Went to Pittsburgh this weekend to catch a Penguins hockey game with Matt. Had some good seats and saw a lot of action, including a brawl at the end of the game.

Indian Wells 2012
March 13th, 2012 · 1 Comment
Going to an early round day at Indian Wells turned out to be a great idea. Most of the top tennis players are still alive in the tournament, and there is much more going on at the tennis grounds: good matchups on smaller courts, where fans are close to the action; top ranked players on […]

California

My flight over here arrived more than 30 minutes early, even with a late departure. Getting a rental car was super easy, using Budget’s Fastbreak program. Five minutes away from my aunts house, got held up in a sobriety check point by the California police. Had to get some In-n-Out before the night was over. […]

San Francisco

Good times at the West Coast, as always. I saw a kickball game, walked in fog nearly all day sunday, and saw land’s end (the pacific ocean). Then the next day, I rode the muni myself (didn’t have to fight anyone), rode a bike around golden gate park, happened upon a monument dedicated to Baltimorean […]

It’s really a different feeling at the ballpark when you have a winning team and a loyal fan base. We lined up along The Embarcadero for an hour to get our Tim Lincecum bobbleheads. From that photo taken from the stadium, the line went almost to the Bay Bridge. They had the championship trophy on […]

Made the annual winter pilgrimage to the west coast… this time I decided to catch the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. My rental car with the mountains of Southern California in the background: Practice courts at Indian Wells… more mountains: The view from our seats, Nadal vs. Del Potro semi-final: And what’s a trip […]
My 3 Hong Kong Essentials
January 30th, 2011 · Comments Off on My 3 Hong Kong Essentials
During my trip to Hong Kong last year, I’ve learned to appreciate three things that have made my stay more enjoyable: HSBC, 7-Eleven and McDonalds. First, on any overseas trip, you need a stable money system. I’ve relied on cash and even traveler’s checks before, but in HK, my HSBC Advance account is gold. Back […]

HK – Times Square
December 18th, 2009 · Comments Off on HK – Times Square
We went to Times Square in Causeway Bay for some dim sum this morning. The square is a pretty cool place, within a few minute walk from our hotel. Apparently it’s a popular place for holiday celebrations too, so we may venture out there for christmas or new year’s. Bonus: there’s a Nokia store there […]
